I received a photo from Merete.
What a wonderful location!
I am happy to know that I have played a part in it.
I have made aquaintance with her when she visited my booth at CPH Vision In Copenhagen ,this March.
She has chosen my Costume as her wedding dress.
After coming home from Copenhagen, I started a new production of the costume for her.
I had initially some worry dealing with a foreign buyer in English, but seeing this photo convinced me
that things went to everybody´s satisfaction.

I have ordered one wooden box for her dress according to our Japanese tradition.
The dress will be in the box for storing after her wedding.
Later I received a lettrer from Merete. She was very much pleased to have the box.
I am especially proud of receiving appreciations from a person who lives in Dennmark, a country of a good design.

We needed some extra care for the costume when it was to be applied on her. I produced some illustrations with English texts.
I have also included an explanatory text about the wooden box made out of Kiri tree.
I had a vague idea of Kiri-tree before. But this time I had to deepen my knowledge on Kiri-tree for preserving things in traditionally Japanese way.
Merete has told me that her family and her friends all were fond of the wedding dress.
I really felt a relief, a real feeling of satisfaction.

Is this the sea where the famed Marlmaid lives? I am surely going to ask Merete sometime about it.
In the end I would like to express my gratitude to all those who helped me in various ways.
I wish Merete happiness for a long time to come.

merete（メルテ）から結婚式の写真が送られてきました。
何て素敵なロケーションなんでしょう！
こんなワンシーンに関わらせてもらえたなんて、とても幸せです。

　merete（メルテ）とは、今年の３月に参加したコペンハーゲン（デンマーク）のＣＰＨヴィジョンで知り合いました。彼女自身もバックのデザイナーです。展示していた[ costume ]をウェディングドレスとして着たいと言ってくれた人です。日本に帰国してから彼女の為に、新しく制作をしたのですが、はじめての海外の人とのやりとりと言葉の壁、かなり頭を悩ませました。が、この写真を見て、その疲れが全てふっ飛びました。

　彼女には、日本の伝統も込めて、桐の箱に作品を詰め送りました。この作品は、ウェディングの日以外に着る事はまずないだろうなぁー、自分自身も作品の保管に最初は頭を悩ましましたので、害虫から守ってくれ、いい状態で保存ができるという理由もあり、桐の箱を選びました。彼女は、桐の箱が大変気に入ったというメールをくれました。おそらくビジュアルと質感であったと思いますが、とてもシンプルな木の箱でしたのでそこが気に入ったのでしょう。デザインの国、デンマークの人に自国の物を褒めていただけるのは優越です。

　この作品は、完成状態で送るのは無理で、どうしても着る時に後ちょっとだけ、手を加えないとダメなんです。そのやり方を伝えるのにどうしようかと悩みました。出来るだけの努力をし、解説図とネットの翻訳ページで作った英文を何枚か入れました。おそらくその英文は、ひどかったことでしょう...。そして桐の箱についての説明文と引用した絵を貼り付けてそれも何枚か作りました。漠然と知っていた”桐の箱”について自身も学ばせてもらったりしました。

コスチュームは、mereteのご家族や友人にとても好評だったそうです。私も胸をなでおろしました。ほ。

　この海は、あのマーメイドの海なんでしょうか、彼女に聞いてみたいなと思っています。
最後に、この作品を制作するにあたって色々な場面でご協力いただいた、たくさんの方達に感謝したいと思います。ありがとうございました。
